There is tension in Ile-Ife and Modakeke in Osun State as at least five persons were found brutally murder while going to their farm.
Sources told DAILY POST that the bodies were found in Modakeke in the early morning of Friday at Toro road.
The Osun State Police spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident, adding that a team of police operatives has been drafted to the towns.
It was also learnt that the Obafemi Awolowo University had shut its main gate as at the time of filing this report.

OSUN DEFENDER gathered that the deceaseds, who were said to be farmers were attacked by yet-to-be-identified assailants at the wee hour of today.
The corpses have been taken away by the police, it was gathered.
OSUN DEFENDER learnt Modakeke indigenes have been protesting the death of their kinsmen, a situation that has been generating tension in both Ile-Ife and the Akoraye town.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Police in the State of Osun, Mrs Yemisi Opalola, said policemen have been deployed to the two towns to forestall breakdown of law and order.
Opalola said information as to what led to the death of the deceased was still scanty, appealing to the indigenes of Ife and Modakeke to calm their nerves.
